This extremely rare fossil crocodile is presented in the original limestone matrix it was found in. Completely original bone separates this fine specimen from the 4 other crocodilians found from this formation. Fossils from the Green River shale are highly coveted by collectors and this example would enhance the collection of any serious collector. The color of the stone was created by the volcanic ash that settled to the bottom of the ancient fossil lake.

This is one of the rarest fossils discovered within the Limestone lacustrine sediments of ancient Fossil Lake. This crocodile was discovered in 1998 on a private ranch in S.W. Wyoming. It is completely original and in the natural matrix exhibiting amazing color from the remnants of volcanic ash within the limestone. The overall dimensions are 42 x 84 inches with the animal measuring nearly 7 feet in total length.
